yummy cake balls =)

Its a Friday night and my hubby is at the fire station so i am in my favorite spot on the couch, watching one of my fav movies, eating some dinner my good friend brought me, and laptop in front of me- typical night in the Weaver household! This afternoon I was baking up a storm... but please dont let this post fool you into thinking im a baker or even a cook- I am completely horrible at both! but for real it looks like a storm went through my kitchen.... im a little messy! One of my fav things to make (b/c its so simple and easy) is cake balls. every time i comment on facebook that im making them i always get people asking me what they are.. so here is a lovely little post dedicated to CAKE BALLS! they are the absolute yummiest things- especially after they have been in the refrigerator for a while! moist cake surrounded by a hard chocolate shell.. makes me want to go sneak yet another from the fridge! for those of you that might be interested in how to make these wonderfully yummy treats.. here are the very simple steps!
follow the cooking directions on your fav choice of cake mix (chocolate, strawberry or white for example) and once it is fully cooked, take it out of the oven and dump it into a bowl, mix it with a container of icing (i normally use the same flavor icing as the cake). take the cake mixture and roll into little balls. let them completely cool on wax paper. then melt your chocolate chips or almond bark for the dipping directions. dip the cake balls and then refrigerate... so easy right??? and oh so delicious!
